The innovative 3DEEP RF technology featured in ENDYMED products delivers energy deep into the dermis, reaching 52 – 55C with minimal epidermal heat. This provides optimal and painless collagen remodelling and superior results.
It is necessary to have pain relief in order to have this treatment, in the form of some kind of local anaesthesia. Also, the local anaesthesia does not make it completely pain free in most cases. You will still feel some sensation but it should be quite tolerable. This is often a heat sensation. If you find it too uncomfortable at any point, tell your practitioner and they will turn the power setting down to make it more comfortable for you.
This can be any of the below or a combination of all of them:
1) Strong topical anaesthetic cream: This is applied for around 40-50 minutes and a cling film dressing placed over it to make nit more effective. It is then cleaned off and the skin prepared with alcohol before the M8 treatment.
2) Nerve blocks: This involves a series of injections in the face, typically one at each eyebrow, one at each cheek and one on either side of the chin. This can make the treatment pain free. This is advisable in patients that have more severe concerns being treated. This allows us to deliver more pulses at higher powers with minimal discomfort.
3) Tumescent anaesthesia. This involves placing a volume of anaesthetic solution under the skin. It is particularly useful in the neck and jaw if we are looking to treat severe concerns and treat underlying fat.
The whole process takes about one and a half hours. Most of the time is spent with the numbing cream on. The Morpheus 8 treatment itself usually takes about 25 minutes.
You look red/sunburned. Balm or barrier cream is applied to your face followed by sunscreen before you leave the clinic. The redness is due to the heat on the skin from the radio-frequency energy. The redness will subside as the heat leaves your skin.
This varies with the age, health and lifestyle of each patient as well as the concern being treated. You may see early improvements in skin tightening and texture in as early as a couple of weeks but for most patients it is not notably apparent until later and after the second treatment. Skin tightening and remodelling can continue for up to six months after the treatment.
The more severe the concern, the longer the wait to see improvements.
Best results are achieved as always, by combining this treatment with other non-surgical treatments such as bioregenerative injectables or prescriptionh topical agents. It is recommended to combine the treatment with topical exosomes ExcoBio to reduce downtime and enhance collage production thereby hastening and enhancing results.
