Biostimulatory dermal fillers are injectable treatments that stimulate the body to produce collagen and elastin, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines, and improve skin firmness and elasticity
Dr. Judy Todd offers biostimulatory dermal fillers, such as Sculptra and Ellanse, to restore volume and rejuvenate your skin. These fillers stimulate natural collagen production, improving elasticity, firmness, and skin texture for long-lasting, natural-looking results.
Sculptra is an injectable material known as Poly-L Lactic Acid (PLLA). PLLA A course of Sculptra can be used to restore lost volume while also greatly improving skin quality and texture. It can be used purely for skin quality and texture and used in the neck for this purpose as well as the abdomen, arms, hands, buttocks.
Sculptra is injected into the deeper layers of the skin. It stimulates and increases the population of the fibroblast cells, whose job is to make collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Collagen stimulation takes place gradually, over a period of months and the treatment will need to be repeated at 4-6 week intervals, as part of a course, depending on the concern. You will be advised how many vials of Sculptra and how many treatment sessions will be required following consultation and assessment.
Ellanse is an injectable dermal filler that stimulates collagen production to volumise while simultaneously improving skin quality. The active ingredient ( calcium Hydroxyapatite ) stimulates the fibroblast cells to make collagen and is delivered in a carrier filler medium. This means that not delivers instant volume similar to hyaluronic acid dermal fillers but the difference is, by 3 months, the filler carrier medium has disappeared and the volume replaced by your own collagen.
