PRP ‘Vampire Facelift’

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, more widely known as The Vampire Facelift, is a revolutionary repair system that allows you to specifically target areas that require rejuvenation. It works by stimulating the body’s own healing powers to stimulate the production of collagen and reverse the signs of ageing.

This therapy has been used in for many years to treat muscle and ligament injuries, pain problems, skin lesions and more. Due to the effectiveness of this treatment, it has now been developed into a cosmetic procedure. The result is plump skin, lines and wrinkles are filled out and youthful, refreshed appearance.

WHO IS IT FOR?

PRP therapy is suitable for anyone experiencing lines and wrinkles, a loss of volume and sagging skin. It is particularly effective around the eyes, mouth and nose, the backs of the hands and tops of the feet, as well as the décolletage and even the knees to give skin a more youthful and radiant appearance.

HOW IT WORKS

PRP therapy involves harvesting platelets from the patient’s own blood, which is placed in a centrifuge to spin down the blood to separate the red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma. These contain growth factors to help heal injured tissue or damaged skin. Once these are injected into the problem areas, they release their own growth factors. This in turn triggers the area to stimulate repair, increasing volume and rejuvenating the skin.

The treatment is given with a topical anaesthetic depending on the area being treated. There is very little recovery time after PRP therapy but you can expect some bruising, swelling and redness at the injection sites which should subside within a few hours. After the initial treatment, you may require several top-up treatments.
